As stated in the thought entitled ‘Distractions waste energy’, the human mind, as it is in its current state, has a very short attention span.
You have very little time to get the information that you want the public to see out and into their field of vision.
Humans have a plethora of distractions around us and the last thing we want to be doing is to be looking at a website for longer than we need to. Showcasing your content in an aesthetically simple and straight-to-the-point manner is the key to engaging your users so that they will get the information that they want in as short amount of time as possible.
When designing and building out sites, my goal is to make this distraction time almost non-existent. The key to doing so is in the design itself. The more flowing and spacious the design, the easier it is to engage the user and allow them to not get distracted. I tend to utilize as much space as I can, without overcomplicating things, to allow for maximum efficiency in displaying content.
